Therapy works best when you feel like you’re talking to an actual human being and you should never feel like you have to "put on a brave face". My job isn't to be a detached expert, but to be a trusted partner with you as we face the hard things in your life journey together. I specialize in disability, grief, loss, reproductive topics, and trauma. Having spent much of my own life living in and navigating dynamically different cultures, I know how intimidating it can be to open up, especially for those of us whose backgrounds make it difficult to be vulnerable with our emotions. Let me walk with you as we figure it out together. My approach is evidence-based, utilizing ACT and somatic therapy. We will work together to integrate all aspects of you because healing isn’t just about talking with your mind, but about reconnecting with your body and its wisdom. My goal is to help you not only identify and feel your feelings, but to give you real, usable tools you can carry with you. Therapy can be intimidating, unknown, and scary. I offer 15 minute consultations for potential clients to get to know me, and to help them feel more comfortable with the process of therapy in general. I offer counseling in Russian, as well as English. Specialties: I specialize in disability related concerns, chronic illness, grief, trauma, and women's reproductive issues. Credentials & Experience: I have over 5 years of experience working with people with disabilities. I have a masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, as well as post graduate trauma counseling certification from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
"I use person centered counseling as the foundation of my practice, with ACT and somatic therapy techniques. In our first session, I will get to know you and what you would like to address in therapy. From there, we will create a treatment plan. I keep the treatment plan flexible and will check in to readjust it as we continue our work together."
