About
When life gets hard and you feel like things are just too much, call me. I can be that safe space to explore situations together. If you want to change your life but don't know where to start, therapy can help you to find new perspectives. In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you break free from repeating cycles that leave you feeling stuck. Together, we will reframe unhelpful mind traps and build practical tools for everyday life. Think of CBT as a short-term, empowering educational experience—one that equips you to see balanced perspectives and ultimately become your own therapist. I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as it is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess stuck, traumatic memories so they lose their emotional charge. Instead of just talking about the past, it uses guided, side-to-side eye movements to help the brain heal itself naturally. My name is Christine Ewald, and I am a licensed therapist in Arizona, Iowa and Wisconsin with over 20 years of professional experience. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, accepted and supported. Life is a journey to be enjoyed, not merely tolerated. I would love to join you on your journey to help you write your best story. Specialties: I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice to help clients reprocess trauma, reduce anxiety and desensitize individuals who have experienced trauma. In our initial sessions, we will explore what brought you to counseling, what your goals are and explore your history to customize a plan for you. Credentials & Experience: I have worked for more than 20 years to help individuals, couples and families in crisis. I am licensed in Iowa, Arizona and Wisconsin.
"I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you to make progress. Using CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better."
