About
I have been a therapist for 24 years. I feel a safe, nonjudgmental and cooperative therapy environment is important and helpful. Past work includes intensive therapy for a tribal Nation, at Hopkins, and supervising a crisis hotline. My therapy practice is diverse and dynamic, but always client centered. I am certified in DBT, CBT, schema, ACT, EMDR, Strength based, Imago/communication-focused couples therapy, multi-systemic/strategic family work, and emotional expression. I strive to match therapy to your needs and goals. I offer evenings and weekends. Please reach out to set up a consult. I look forward to talking with you! Clinical focus includes ADHD- child/adult, parenting/family adjustment, young adult transition, depression, anxiety, bipolar and chronic medical issues, addiction, chronic pain/illness, couples and family issues. I work with addiction, including behavioral, eating and gambling disorders. Positive orientation to trauma, LGBTQ+, vulnerable situations. Most of all, my primary focus starts with you as a client—successful treatment is more than a diagnosis or approach. I am flexible and person-centered. I partner with you to meet your needs and identify areas for change over time. My primary goal as a therapist is to work with you on ensuring life is meaningful and worth living and help you meet your goals. Specialties: I specialize in anxiety, trauma, mood disorders and ADHD, also work with families and couples. I balance active listening and supportive therapy to identify and deal with problems, coupled with evidence based interventions (DBT, CBT, EMDR) leading to healthy functioning, improvement in symptoms, and positive changes to family and work arenas, and increased social connectedness. Credentials & Experience: I am trained/licensed in DBT, CBT Cognitive Processing, Parenting Skills, Imago and Schema therapy. I am trained in EMDR therapy and in ADHD coaching. I work with teens and children via telehealth therapy and use play and art modalities. I see individuals, couples and families.
