About

Are you living with a chronic medical condition, such as chronic pelvic pain, digestive issues, or medically unexplained symptoms? I understand the unique emotional and psychological difficulties that can accompany these conditions, and I am here to support you on your journey towards better well-being. My name is Erica, and I am a dedicated, compassionate psychotherapist specializing in working with individuals who are navigating the complex emotional landscape of chronic medical conditions. I aim to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space where you can openly express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques, as well as yoga and hypnotherapy. This allows me to tailor our sessions to your specific needs, helping you develop effective coping mechanisms and cultivate personal wellness. Whether you are seeking support in managing chronic pain, coping with digestive issues, or navigating other medical symptoms, I am here to help and invite you to reach out. Let's work together to embrace your strengths, navigate challenges, and build a foundation for long-lasting well-being. Specialties: I work with clients who are struggling with chronic health issues (e.g., persistent pain, GI/digestive issues, autoimmune disorders). Our initial session will include an opportunity for you to tell your story and an introduction to treatment options. Treatment may include discussion of past trauma and/or current stressors as these often play a role in our physical health and experience. Credentials & Experience: I am board-certified and the only GI-specific psychologist in the state of Kentucky. I'm certified in clinical hypnosis. I'm also a registered yoga teacher (200hr) and offer therapeutic yoga sessions.

"In addition to traditional 'talk therapy,' I often use somatic interventions as part of my approach to psychotherapy. This may include grounding exercises (i.e., calming techniques), somatic awareness (i.e., bringing attention to physical sensations), or movement practices (ex: yoga) to cultivate self-understanding and healing."
