About

Welcome! Thanks for considering Compass Counseling Services of NOVA. I am a Resident in Counseling in Virginia. My mission is to serve adults, couples/families, and youths seeking help with anxiety, depression, traumas, behavioral and relationship management. I also provide life skills training, addiction recovery support and co-dependency/enabling behavioral modification. All clients are entitled to strong, caring and client-based treatment. Clients usually desire to make positive changes that best match their personal values and wellbeing. The effort that you put into your therapeutic journey is what you will gain from it. For over six years combined I've helped adults, youths, and families overcome crippling life stressors, depression, anxieties, and traumas. I offer a listening ear with patience, compassion and empathy. I will propose helpful insights & mindfulness paths in various modalities that can benefit you in your transition to a more resilient and liberated you. Please know that you are not alone and that there is hope for healing & growth. My goal is to meet you where you are. To provide a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings and work towards growing positivity in your life. I get that "therapy is about people helping people; don't cheat yourself, treat yourself." I am a help agent for you! Specialties: I work with individuals/couples/families vexed by depression, anxiety, traumas in their daily lives, or relationships. We will carefully & jointly delve into the issues at hand. We will then form a plan for mitigating/defeating these issues/symptoms. I look forward to helping clients become empowered in ways that can help them to reclaim their wellbeing and to live stable lives. I am here for you! Credentials & Experience: I have over 6 yrs of experience helping adults, youths and families in crisis. I'm a former TX certified juvenile probation officer. I'm also a former MS state corrections officer. (both adult & juvenile). I am a public servant, retired, Army combat veteran & a Celebrate Recovery group facilitator.

"I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the best ways to assist you in making progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. During your therapeutic journey, I'll help you learn how to challenge those thoughts & behaviors. To help you become your best self!"
