About
Providing a safe and validating space for others is something I've always loved to do. This passion has lead me to becoming a Psychologist and providing therapy to clients for the last ten years. I enjoy working with adults in various stage of life. I've appreciated working with clients on relationships, identity, and self-love. Being a South-Asian, I encourage individuals to explore their own cultural/ethnic/racial identity. In a therapy session my approach is inviting, warm, curious, and a grounding presence. I strongly believe clients are experts on themselves; hence my approach to therapy is empowering and encouraging clients to lean into experiences to meet their goals. I like to use the metaphor that my clients are in the driver's seat; I'm there to support them as needed Gift-giving is important in many cultures and hence the gift I want to give clients is hope, validation, and safety. I encourage clients to try out various exercises/skills in between sessions to continue to meet their goals.Overall I hope a client leaves our sessions feeling supported, heard, and respected. Specialties: I work with clients who are wanting to building their sense of self, strengthen their relationships, and decrease symptoms of anxiety, trauma, and depression. During our sessions, we work as a team to build skills, explore patterns, and take steps that feel right for you. Most of my clients see a decrease in symptoms within the first few sessions and continued progress throughout our sessions. Credentials & Experience: I have 10 years of experience in providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I'm licensed in NY, PA, and NJ and I'm certified as a Health Service Psychologist
"I pull from various techniques from different orientations to tailor therapy to what works best for clients. A session could involve taking a look at values, to challenging negative thoughts, and ending off with a mindfulness activity. I encourage clients to provide feedback so they can get the most of our sessions. Like a designer, I hope to create sessions that feels like a good fit for clients."
