About
Starting counseling can be intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. Recognizing the challenges this may bring, and the sensitive nature of the work we’ll do together, I am committed to building a safe and trusting relationship. This foundation will allow us to tackle the healing process and make meaningful changes. I work with adults who struggle with issues like PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, perinatal challenges, and other mental health concerns. Together, we’ll focus on improving functioning, communication, boundaries, and self-compassion, with a little sarcasm and humor along the way! I am LGBTQIA2S+ affirmative and am trained in Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and a variety of other evidenced-based practices that I will use to help build a treatment approach that aligns with your specific needs and goals. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, so I’d be honored to meet with you and see if we’re a good fit! My goal is to offer a compassionate and supportive space where you can be your true self, feel heard, and make positive changes to live the life you deserve. Specialties: I love supporting adults navigating perfectionistic tendencies, people-pleasing, and self-criticism. Therapy provides a space to examine the origins of these beliefs, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen boundaries, and build greater self-compassion. My goal is to help clients move away from constantly striving for approval and toward living in alignment with their own values and needs. Credentials & Experience: With over 7 years of experience working with several populations, I have a passion for supporting those who have endured trauma. I am trained in Brainspotting, a "treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain and trauma."
"When beginning therapy, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for our work together. From there I may use Brainspotting to support healing of both the mind and body. I also bring in other therapies, such as self-compassion strategies, coping and communication skills, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify thoughts and feelings that may be holding you back."
