About
Working with adolescents is rewarding as well as challenging. Kids today are having to juggle more than ever before with being in the social media and immediate gratification era . Not having all the tools available to them at times makes it even more difficult for them. I am able to share with kids that they are not alone and that there are other kids out there who struggle with similar difficulties. I meet kids where they are at and challenge their thinking along the way. Todays youth have the world at their fingertips (literally) and yet they struggle to be able to see what is in front of them or trust it. I offer a safe space for kids to share their thoughts, idea and frustrations with their world as they see it. I can relate to the frustration and fear of raising kids in todays world. I would love the opportunity to chat and see if together we can make a difference for you and your child. Specialties: I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, impulse control concerns along with ADHD and anger management that might be symptoms from a trauma. I can provide a safe space to share concerns as well as learn coping skills that might be more appropriate to manage symptoms. Most of the kids I work with share they can notice a difference. Credentials & Experience: I have worked with adolescents in multiple settings for over 10 years. I am certified provide DBT (dialect behavior therapy) specifically for teens and their caregivers.
"I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. CBT can provide a way of looking at how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected. In learning how our automatic responses react to a situation, we then learn to challenge those thoughts, feelings and behaviors to change them for a different more positive outcome."
