About
As a military veteran, I have a passion for the military and first responder communities. I am also passionate about providing clinical Christian counseling to those who have a faith background. I became a counselor as a result of my personal journey with counseling, and it is my desire to use my life experiences to build empathy and connect with my clients in a meaningful way. I specialize in treating trauma by practicing a modality known as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This has been revolutionary to me, both personally and professionally. I also have a wide range of experience in treating anxiety, depression, marriage counseling, spiritual abuse, and various life challenges. I know firsthand how difficult therapy (and asking for help) can be, but it has also been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. You don’t have to go through it alone, and I would be honored to walk with you on the journey. Specialties: I often work with military veterans and first responders who may be struggling with PTSD and related symptoms. If you're not a veteran or first responder, don't worry - you're still welcome here! I am also a Christian and can use faith-based counseling as necessary in sessions if requested by the client. Credentials & Experience: Prior to becoming a therapist, I served 8 years in the US Army on active duty, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After leaving military service, I worked in corporate America as a project manager for 7 years. During this time, I attended graduate school at night to pursue my counseling career.
