About
Are you struggling with increased anxiety or negative thoughts since becoming a new mom or becoming pregnant? Early motherhood can be challenging whether you are coping with a newborn or transitioning to more children. Often times during a big life transition like motherhood, you can experience multiple emotions while also processing a new identity. You may be feeling anxious or sad, which may be something you never thought you would feel after the birth of your baby or when raising your kids. It is okay to ask for help so you can explore these feelings, learn healthy ways to cope and thrive as a mom. My name is Meagan Catricala, LICSW, PMH-C. I am a mom of two and a therapist who like you has been unsure of what steps to take as a new mom. I am here to help you navigate your transition into motherhood whether you are expecting a baby, recently given birth, or mothering a toddler. I want to help you form a strong foundation and teach you the tools you need to thrive in early motherhood, whether you are facing increased anxiety, depression, loneliness, or feelings of loss. Let me connect you with the supports and resources you need to ensure a smooth transition into motherhood. Reach out so we can discuss therapy further. Specialties: I work with clients who may be struggling with depression/anxiety during the perinatal period. During our initial sessions, I will complete a full assessment where we will discuss you symptoms. With expectant clients a lot of the focus is on preparing for postpartum. With postpartum clients, my approach is to provide immediate tools/strategies to alleviate symptoms. Credentials & Experience: I am also licensed in the state of NY and in network with Aetna, Optum, and Empire Blue Cross. I am certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International.
