About
Let me start by sharing some real appreciation that you are taking steps to look for support. It can be overwhelming to even know where to start and I have so much respect that you’re here. As you’re choosing a therapist - be picky! Therapeutic fit is so critical to the process. Over the years, I have tailored my skills and approach for clients who struggle with anxiety, regulating and understanding emotions, self-esteem, advocating for themselves, and relationship/boundary issues. I also enjoy working with couples to help rebuild connection, deepen shared understanding, and strengthen healthy conflict and communication skills. For 14 years I've worked with adults, couples, and families. I integrate a psychodynamic lens and basic neurobiology with CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, EFT, family systems, and mindfulness interventions. My down-to-earth style and experience helps us integrate all that mumbo-jumbo into real change. My approach: Explore, Challenge, Hone, Observe (ECHO details below) I am licensed in MA, NY, and CA and see clients via telehealth. I bring humor, authenticity, and empathy and I tend to hear from clients that they feel understood in a way they haven’t before. I have a conversational style and I ask a lot of curious questions that I pair with direct reflections to help us have ‘aha’ moments that lead to ‘hell yeah’ growth. Specialties: I built a framework called ECHO to guide my process. Explore, Challenge, Hone, Observe. Repeat. My psychodynamic style leads to in-depth Exploration. I then integrate interventions (CBT, DBT, etc.) to Challenge what's not working and we Hone alternative skills. You share updates and we Observe what is needed. We repeat that until we work me out of a job with the goal of self-sufficiency over time. Credentials & Experience: My background is in community-based therapy with youths and families throughout the neighborhoods of Boston. I owe so much of my growth to learning from their resilience. I am now licensed in MA, NY, and CA and I primarily see young adults, adults, and couples who struggle internally or with others.
"Clients reach out when anxiety, emotions, or relationships feel out of their control and they are looking to understand what is going on and how to feel better. I use a strengths-based approach. We will always see you as doing the best you can with the skills you have at any given time. Through self-compassion, we unlearn old patterns and build more helpful tools using evidence-based modalities."
