About
I'm Dr. Nyasha and I specialize in supporting other Black women navigating journeys of anticipatory grief and grief related to the loss of their mother, father, spouse, child, and/or sibling through nature-based walk and talk therapy. If you are struggling, then I may be the right therapist for you. Your heart is welcome here. I have been there. I know the suffering of unexpected loss on a personal level. I also have a PhD in Counseling Psychology and have maintained additional certifications in advanced grief counseling and clinical trauma since 2020. Possibly most important, spirituality is my highest value and at the core of all I am and all I do. You can trust my care for your emotional and psychological needs. With 20 years of experience, I am here to support you through your healing process. Your unique story and path matter, and I am committed to walking beside you with empathy and understanding. If you are ready to take the next step of a consultation, I am here to receive you. Specialties: Our therapeutic relationship begins with structured and personalized weekly sessions over three months (a season), where we will work together to reduce your stress symptoms to sub-clinical levels while exploring deeper matters of existence, identity, and meaning. Credentials & Experience: In addition to holding a doctorate in counseling psychology, I have maintained active certifications in grief and trauma counseling since 2020.
"Therapy with me is an integration of person-centered, somatic, and cognitive-behavioral therapies. It incorporates non-traditional nature-based walk and talk therapy, gentle yoga stretch, therapeutic art, DBT, EMD/EMD(r), and traditional talk therapy interventions. Practices coming out of the Black Church religious tradition are also integrated when desired- namely sermonic contemplations."
