About

Feeling overwhelmed? Stuck? Let’s talk! My approach is a combination of “patient-centered” and “integrative.” That means that I’ll focus on your unique situation as we work to get you where you want to go. One of my key goals is to help clients reduce their distress and increase coping skills. That looks differently for everyone. For some, that involves a new issue in their life. For others, it may mean grappling with longstanding thoughts, feelings, or behaviors that they want to change. My psychodynamic training means that I’ll be especially attuned to how your past is affecting you in the present day, and how it might influence your future. I consider attachment style, your place within your family of origin, intersectional cultural issues, trauma, and existing strengths as some of the starting points for understanding how we can help you. There’s nothing that’s off-limits or too embarrassing to discuss in this space. I’m down-to-earth, easy-going, and focused on you. With me you’ll get validation and encouragement, even as we grapple with areas where self-reflection may be challenging. If any of that sounds like it might be helpful to you, please reach out. Specialties: As you tell me about the circumstances that have brought you to therapy, I'll come up with a handful of short-term and long-term goals for us to consider working on. As my main focus is reducing distress, I'll make sure that some are targeted enough to focus on near-term relief, while others may be more focused on issues that are more deeply-rooted and will take longer to get our hands around. Credentials & Experience: I have pursued an integrative training approach that allows me to serve as a "jack of all trades" therapist. My one area of specialized expertise (and interest) is in working with those affected by rare/chronic medical conditions. I'm exclusively licensed in the State of Maryland.

"While I draw from a host of different treatment modalities (including CBT, DBT, and IFS) the underpinning of my approach is psychodynamic and humanistic. As a result, I gravitate toward exploring how your past has affected your present, and then using that to chart a future that you want to see."
