About
I recognize that clients are their own best experts; however, life circumstances sometimes intervene and clients need help to become their best selves. I believe that clients, particularly clients who experience insomnia, anxiety, depression, and trauma, occasionally need assistance with life's trials and travails. I am a compassionate listener and an experienced clinician who can help you move beyond their challenges and discover, in rejuvenated fashion, what awaits beyond the difficulties that you are current experiencing. I practice in a trauma-informed manner and view it as a privilege to assist and empower clients on their wellness journey. My work is work is client-centered, evidence-based, purpose-driven, strengths-based, integrative, and collaborative. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Insomnia, which is an evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia. I look forward to a collaborative, rewarding journey whereby you arrive at your chosen destination. A destination that allows you to be your best self. Specialties: I work with clients who may be struggling with diverse mental health issues. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeper into the issues that clients deem important and collaboratively create a plan for addressing those issues in a manner that helps clients become their best selves and get their life back. Most of my clients experience gradual improvement after several sessions. Credentials & Experience: In addition to being a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC), I hold a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.
"While I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice, I am versed in diverse modalities and will utilize those if I deem them appropriate for the issues that you are experiencing. With CBT, we will examine how your thoughts impact your emotions which in turn impact your behaviors. Ideally, treatment will allow you to recognize the impact of your thoughts on your experiences."
