Jenny Ingwersen
Counselor
·LCPC, MAAbout
My goal as a therapist is to help clients reduce suffering and increase personal freedom and empowerment; my approach is collaborative, candid, playful, and deeply attentive. I often work with people who have experienced sexual trauma, intimate partner violence, and developmental trauma. I always give close attention to how oppressive systems can negatively impact individual mental health and well being. I am a Health At Every Size clinician and committed to fat liberation. I have extensive experience supporting queer and gender queer folks. When working with me clients are asked to help create a framework for therapy after just a few sessions, creating a flexible and positive roadmap for our time together. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), parts work, feminist therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness and somatic interventions to generate beneficial changes. We are living in an extremely challenging time. I refuse to settle into pessimism in the face of our present and ongoing struggles, and am dedicated to collective and individual healing. We evolve and grow together. The work I do, and that you might do in therapy, touches others and healing spreads.
