About
I believe in meeting people where they are at and helping facilitate growth with them. I believe that people need to feel heard and valued in order to see their own solutions and be empowered to make changes for themselves. I believe in humanity and valuing people, no matter their race, sexual orientation, religious/spiritual beliefs, gender-identity, socio-economic status, or anything else you deem important to you. I believe in understanding and communication between people and always strive to facilitate this. I work in sexual health, believe strongly in the LGBTQIA+ community, and am a member myself. I support consensual non-monogamy, kink communities and am sex positive. I believe strongly that we can only use the tools we are given, learn or adopt over time and that striving for new and healthy learning is possible for anyone. I am certified through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, & Therapists (AASECT) as a Sex Therapist and am excited to support my clients in the development of their healthiest self! I also have additional training with The Couples Institute, to facilitate the Developmental Model, in my work with couples. Specialties: I work with individuals and couples whom are struggling with sexual related concerns, such as sexual dysfunction, desire differences, gender and sexual identity, kink interests, communication between couples, and general education about sexual health and interests. Although I see adults primarily, if you have a younger adolescent/child that is struggling with some of these concerns, please call. Credentials & Experience: I have had the pleasure of working in many diverse aspects of social work and use this experience to support my clients. Having experience working with military families, cancer care, hospice, queer advocacy, disabilities rights, and reproductive health has shaped me into an eclectic clinician.
"I have had exposure to many treatment models over my career and bring forward what feels appropriate to the situation. I use the Developmental Model with couples mostly and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy often as well. I have also been trained in Trauma Focused CBT and utilize those tools when necessary."
