About
Life is hard, and it does not come with instructions. Many of us find ourselves wrestling with the same problems day after day, year after year: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflict, grief, anger, or the sense of just going through the motions of life. My ideal clients want more than symptom relief or inspirational posts. They want honest self-examination, deeper understanding, and a more vibrant life. I work with individuals and couples who want to engage life more fully, work through stubborn personal obstacles, improve relationships and move from surviving toward fully living. My approach understands pain and trauma as important parts of life that shape meaning, personality, relationships, and the ability to live well. I blend existential psychotherapy, Buddhist-informed counseling, trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems, and family systems therapy to help people get unstuck and live with honesty, freedom, and connection. I am active and direct. I help people dig beneath the surface to work on the deeper issues driving their pain. My work is caring, compassionate, and honest. The goal is to become productively uncomfortable, where real and lasting change can happen. Specialties: The main issues I help people with are anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, and general dissatisfaction with life. Treatment involves looking honestly at the protective patterns, defenses, and worldviews that once helped you survive but may now be causing pain. As your relationship with yourself and others changes, life can become more open, vibrant, connected, and fulfilling. Credentials & Experience: I have worked in the behavioral health field since 2000 and as a licensed counselor since 2005. I am licensed in both Kentucky and Ohio.
"I use existential psychotherapy, Buddhist-informed therapy, Internal Family Systems, and family systems counseling. In practice, we slow down, listen carefully to the different parts of you, and explore how your inner life, relationships, fears, hopes, and beliefs shape the way you live. The work is honest, compassionate, and focused on freedom from habitual living."
