About
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or fear while just trying to survive each day? Maybe you've sought help in the past but been harmed by the mental health field. Your past isn’t past for you, and you want to scream, cry, or give up. Whether you're dealing with day-to-day stress or long-held painful thoughts and feelings, you know that you're ready to make a change, and you want a collaborator on your journey. I am a trauma-informed, abolitionist therapist. I work with neurodivergent and queer teens and adults with an emphasis on addressing suicide, trauma, dissociation, and LGBTQ+ issues while paying attention to systems of harm, like racialized capitalism. My work incorporates EMDR with acceptance and commitment therapy. My approach to therapy includes helping clients identify their strengths and develop new skills while reckoning with systems of oppression. I believe in the importance of accepting our emotions and building community. I incorporate bodily awareness and mindfulness techniques into our treatment. If you are looking for a collaborator, let's meet. Specialties: I work with clients struggling to manage depression, anxiety, and complex trauma. Initially, I work with my clients to create a safe space and enlist additional resources to help them manage their mood. We create a plan for the issues we are going to address while remaining flexible to handle whatever comes up. Credentials & Experience: I have experience working in mobile crisis and community mental health. I am licensed in Iowa and trained in EMDR.
