About
I focus on clients above with trauma, with adults and children as young as 2 years old. For adults/older kids, depending on the trauma, I use either traditional talk therapy (CBT) or EMDR. EMDR uses physical stimulus to process trauma memories directly. For children, I use play therapy (Ages 4-12) individually with the child or PCIT (Ages 2-7). PCIT helps guardians use play therapy skills at home to redefine their relationship with their child. I'm not a very formal person. I bring a more relaxed approach. If you find the idea of just sitting on a couch and talking boring, I get it. I offer fidget tools, drawing materials, and even the option to work on a puzzle during our sessions. Any PCIT will need to be modified due to nature of office setup. If you would like to work with a therapist who refers to their degree as just a fancy piece of paper, send me an email or go the website and submit an appointment request. Therapy is not a quick fix, it's a collaboration to help you learn more about yourself. Specialties: I focus on working with trauma, both in adults and children. For adults, I use either cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), where we work on identifying negative habits, beliefs and patterns to challenge them. I also use EMDR to help process individual trauma memories. For children, I offer play therapy, or PCIT to help parents learn skills to improve behaviors. Credentials & Experience: I have worked in the "helping field" for over 10 years, including work as a CNA in a nursing home and direct support professional in group homes. I received my master's degree in 2020 and began working as a therapist, and received my independent license in 2023.
"We start with an intake appointment where I ask specific questions to learn more about you. This helps me figure out which approach would be best for you and your case. From there, I write the treatment plan and work with you on what your therapy will look like. School notes can be provided for attended appointments."
