About
Rooted Hope Counseling is owned by Kirsten Edwards, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 18+ years of clinical experience in schools, at a large Christian agency, and in private practice. Kirsten loves helping women and girls see their immense worth and helping kids and families who are struggling and may feel anxious, stressed, and worn down. She loves finding fun and engaging ways to connect with children and supporting parents to problem-solve challenges. Kirsten also enjoys walking alongside clients who would like to explore issues of faith, and she offers Christian counseling for those who are interested. At Rooted Hope Counseling, our approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relational. We believe in listening and asking questions to understand what clients hope to gain from therapy and then mapping out a path to get there. We want clients to feel supported through any challenges and confident that they are steadily moving toward their larger goals. When you or a loved one are struggling, it can be easy to feel stuck and lose hope. At Rooted Hope, we don’t view hope as a fingers-crossed wish for change, but rather as a confident expectation of good to come based on something solid and reliable, even in the thick of a struggle. We would be honored to be a part of your journey toward hope and healing! Specialties: I specialize in anxiety and Christian Counseling for women as well as teen girls, children of all ages, and their families.
"Kirsten primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) but integrates other approaches as appropriate and desired, including art & other creative techniques. A note to those interested in Christian Counseling: CBT is an evidence-based approach which models the Biblical principle of changing our thoughts to reflect truth & our behaviors to be in line with the truth, to help with healing & change."
