About
Facing harsh or unfair circumstances can sometimes feel impossible, but I'm here to show you that it's not! Through the experience of facing medical complexity with my youngest child, I have learned so much about what it means to find joy, strength, and peace even through the hardest things, and I'd love to help you do this as well. My communication style is humorous, confident, and engaged. I will follow your lead but will also offer input, including helpful analogies and explanations of mental health concepts. I welcome disagreement and believe you are the expert on your own life. I love offering different perspectives to get you thinking about things in a new light. We will work to compare your thoughts and feelings against reality to determine which are worth our time and which we should work to get rid of. I want to empower my clients to take up space, have opinions, feel things, and just generally lean into who they are! I would love the opportunity to work with you to help you to make your life the best it can be, whether that means learning to deal with something horrible and heavy that life has thrown at you or taking an already pretty good situation and working to make it better. I know it's overwhelming to start, but reach out and let's connect! Specialties: I have experienced the difficulty of a significantly medically complex child and how this has impacted anxiety, parenting, faith, life identity/career, and much more. I'd love to share what I've learned professionally and personally with you while we address the challenges we can change, and the ones we can't. Credentials & Experience: I have learned through formal education and the "school of life" and come with a very well-rounded approach! Trauma, hardship, relationships, professional difficulties are all things I have a large amount of experience with.
"My most used type of therapy is CBT, which addresses how we see things, what we think about them, and how this impacts the choices we make. There is so much we can do to decrease negative feelings and increase life contentment, even when we can't change our circumstances. I practice what I preach and can vouch for the effectiveness of these treatment types."
