About
I have 20 years of experience with broad array of personalities after working for years in therapy clinics, schools, development disabilities agencies, ministry, and juvenile justice. Working with kids and teens is my passion but I love working with adults as well. I'm a play therapist at heart and believe that adults need to learn to play again. I recently have been studying play throughout the lifespan and have been implementing it with my adult clients. I keep a small practice and believe in doing my best to serve each individual client. I love the work that I do and am excited to serve my community. I have been doing play therapy since before play therapy was a thing in Idaho. I was chosen out of 8 interns for my initial position in 2005 and have been perfecting my craft ever since. I believe in creativity and stretching ourselves to try new things. I also believe connection with other people and reaching new goals is essential to life. Does your life need a reset or a new beginning? Let's discover your purpose and passion for life. Please call for a consultation so we can get started. I can't wait to walk this journey with you! Specialties: I have extensive experience with youth. I spent half my career working in schools and have worked with many personality's. Children and adults alike. Play Therapy is my main approach when working with children and teens. When working with adults my main approach is Narrative Therapy. I'm currently taking EMDR classes to strengthen my work with trauma. Play does address trauma! Credentials & Experience: LCPC licenses are acquired after 3000 hours of supervision and rigorous testing. The RPT or registered play therapist certification also requires extensive training and supervision.
"My main approach to therapy is Narrative Therapy and Play Therapy is my secondary approach. I have been in a Christian Counseling setting for the last 13 years and used Solution Focused Therapy during that time. I am currently training in EMDR and have extensive sand tray and arts training as well. I'm well versed in CBT if preferred by clients."
