About
Sometimes life gets overwhelming, hopes get waylaid by life challenges, relationships turn out not as dreamed. Sometimes the transitions in life such as child to adult, single to married, married to single, working to retired, created emotional/mental barriers in our lives. Or even the challenge to figure out what your dreams are can be challenging. Therapy and "clini-coaching" (clinical background) contain tools and information that inspire and facilitate personal growth, healing from past trauma, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. In my 17 years experience as a licensed clinical professional counselor, I have gained valuable experience working in schools, with Army veterans, and private practice. Family Footsteps includes "TeleHealth" (HIPPA compliant online video chat), and future: parenting classes, Facebook group, games, media. I am enjoying helping people through life's journey. I am so grateful for those in my life who have helped me through tough times. I would be honored to help you/your family. Specialties: I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviors. During sessions I'll help you learn how to challenge thoughts that are destructive and find a way of thinking that improves feelings and behaviors. In family/marriage therapy I use Gottman based and attachment based approaches. Credentials & Experience: In the top 15 programs in the USA, while only half the class graduated, the Masters of Counseling at Idaho State U. was a high value. Internship while earning a Bachelors degree in Psychology at U. of Utah, focused on award-winning new research in family functions, establishing the career expertise.
