About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience engaging in clinical social work. I approach counseling as a healing process, helping to answer deep-seated questions that individuals have about themselves or their child. I believe that providing an environment of compassion & support will help individuals and families learn & thrive. I treat adolescents, adults, & families with histories of abuse & neglect, acute behavioral challenges, adjustment & attachment issues, loss, grief, relationship difficulties, difficulty transitioning to parenthood, & traumatic stress, including domestic violence & sexual assault. I hold a Master's degree from Georgia State University & is dedicated to providing a therapeutic approach that is holistic, strengths-based, & collaborative. I especially enjoy working with teens. I began my career working as a Medical Social Worker at Grady Hospital & Atlanta Medical Center. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at CHOA. I believe that I was "called" to this field at a young age. I've always possessed a strong desire to advocate & uplift people. I have a true passion for helping others discover how to help themselves heal, grow, & thrive following challenging or traumatic experiences. Being trusted with that mission is both rewarding & meaningful. Specialties: For depression & or trauma, I would normally work with you for 3 to 6 months with cognitive behavioral therapy. Most patients see gradual lifting of symptoms within a few weeks & consistent improvement thereafter. My goal will always be to help you learn how to better help yourself. I want to provide an environment where you feel safe & feel comfortable opening up without the fear of being judged. Credentials & Experience: I have over 20 years of experience helping adults, teens, and families in crisis. I'm licensed in GA and I am experienced with providing trauma informed care.
