About
I am a compassionate, caring therapist who will assist you in discovering strengths you may not know you already have. I am a strength based, people first therapist who believes that with proper support and guidance change is possible. I can help to unlock difficult patterns in communication, behavior and thoughts while fostering confidence in yourself. Life is a journey and the first step is usually the hardest. Take it and I will meet you where you are to help you get to the next one. Self -Care is not selfish and you can start at anytime. I am C-DBT certified, a trauma specialist and work with individuals struggling with symptoms related to depression, trauma, ptsd, anxiety, life transitions, substance use and relationship issues. I use talk therapy, psychoeducation, dbt skills and cbt to help you develop coping skills and build strength and confidence. How can I help you? These are just words until we work together to create a plan of action to move through the stages of change. From precontemplation, not even realizing there is a problem/concern to gaining effective skills to minimize the problem or concern. Journeys are always a bit easier with help. Let me help you. Credentials & Experience: I have over 10 years of experience helping adolescents, adults and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and life transtions. I also hold additional certification in trauma- informed therapy and Pathways.
"I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in my practice. We'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, DBT and MI we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience and develop coping strategies to help you make positive changes."
