About

After many years as a psychotherapist, I am now focusing my work on bereavement support and on companioning others through end-of-life care as a certified doula. I am also a Companion Animal end-of-life doula and can be present as you make decisions for your pet and can be with you at any point in the end-of-life process. I can provide grief support individually or in groups for you or your agency. Additionally, for 40 years I have taught movement forms and am a board-certified dance/movement therapist. I am a yoga teacher and am certified in Yoga for Osteoporosis. I am a certified qigong teacher. An end-of-life doula provides compassionate support by addressing emotional, spiritual, informational, and physical (non-medical) comfort needs for the dying and their families and caregivers. This complements the care of hospice and palliative providers, and may include life review, legacy projects, and companioning. At The Evolving Center, I offer Dance-Movement Therapy, End-of-Life Doula services, and Wellness through Movement, Qigong, and Yoga. I work with Molly, an AKC certified therapy dog. I have a specialty in bereavement after homicide and am available for speaking on this topic. I can provide bereavement support. I am your compassionate partner. Specialties: The initial experience in therapy involves sharing your experience, beliefs, desires, and even your doubts and fears. It is also a time when we get to know one another, develop trust, and this must happen in a safe and caring environment. Therapeutic companioning works because it produces positive change and a sense of growth and hope. Credentials & Experience: After 30 years at Waterbury Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry, I started my private practice to give me more time to work with individuals in 2014. I am certified by UVM Osher Center for Integrative Health as an End-of Life and Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula.

"The time we spend together belongs to you. I will use the methods and types of therapy that you choose and that best support the change you seek. With that said, I specialize in both verbal and non-verbal communication; my approach is holistic and meaning-based. I endeavor to be culturally sensitive, compassionate, and fully focused on the goals you set."
