About
Welcome! I'm Victoria Fobes, a neurodivergent therapist based in Colorado Springs at my practice EmberHeart Therapy. I specialize in working with individuals ages 12 and up who are navigating complex trauma, neurodivergence, childhood trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault. My approach is affirming, client-centered, and integrative, centering each person’s lived experience. I offer a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients, individuals from nontraditional or fringe lifestyles, and members of military, veteran, and helper communities. I also love working with religious trauma, cult recovery, sex work, binge eating disorder, financial shame/trauma, incarceration, infertility, adoptee trauma, men’s issues, parenting, grief, chronic pain, postpartum depression, OCD and health anxiety, developmental differences, communication, relationship issues, and major life transitions and more! I believe in collaborative care and tailor treatment to your goals using a range of evidence-based modalities. Whether you're starting therapy for the first time or returning after a difficult experience, I strive to meet you with warmth, compassion, and nonjudgmental support. Together, we can ignite the spark of healing. Specialties: I support survivors of sexual violence, trauma of all varieties and neurodivergence, not just ADHD and Autism. Treatment first involves building safety, then processing trauma at your pace, nervous system regulation, and identity work. You can expect greater self-trust, reduced overwhelming feelings, and a deeper sense of connection and empowerment within yourself and the world around you. Credentials & Experience: I started out working with unhoused youth and along the way discovered I'm neurodivergent and queer. I trained at a local nonprofit supporting survivors of sexual violence, IPV, and trafficking, then earned my MSW at UCCS while serving folks in community mental health.
"I use trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming approaches like parts work, somatic tools, and polyvagal theory to support survivors of sexual and domestic violence. I adapt DBT and narrative techniques to build safety, regulate the nervous system, and help you reconnect with your voice, body, and sense of self. I work at your pace so that you feel heard every step of the way."
