About
You may notice sleep worsening, stress lingering, or feeling on edge without knowing why. Anxiety, depression, or past experiences often show up first in the body, mood, or relationships. I’m Steve Valente, LCSW, a therapist in Colorado with over 30 years in social services. In addition to my clinical work, I’m a touring musician, which gives me a unique understanding of the pressures and unpredictability of creative life. I especially enjoy working with musicians and creatives to stay grounded, manage stress, and build a life that supports both mental health and passion. I am experienced in working with adults of all ages and couples. I specialize with those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. In me, you will find a therapist who is accepting, non-judgmental, supportive, and respectful. I take a strengths-based and self-determined approach. I have a strong belief that you are the expert in your own life. As such, I am here to serve as a guide in defining and achieving the counseling goals that are most important and meaningful to you.
"I most commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my work. In our first session, we'll explore what brought you in and identify the best path forward. We'll look at how your thoughts influence your emotions and experiences, while also building skills to accept what you can't control and take meaningful action toward what matters most"
