·LPCAbout
Do you long for connection, yet always feel lonely? Do you question your self-worth and feel like you have to work extra hard to prove your value in relationship? These aren't signs that something is wrong with you; these are often symptoms of untreated trauma, emotional neglect, or being in unsafe relationships with the people closest to us. Emotional neglect and trauma can create a cycle of shame and self-doubt, where we rely on other people to tell us we're okay...when all along, you've always been okay. But it leaves us with the question...who am I? My focus as a therapist is working with women and the issues that impact us-anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD/neurodivergence, self-esteem, body image, losing our rights, reproductive health/parenting, and relationship issues. My approach is gentle and non-judgemental, as I strive to make every woman feel more at home within herself. I believe that therapy is for everyone (no crisis needed!) and I strive to make the therapy space a place of comfort and safety. I match my style to your unique needs and personal goals. I know reaching out to a new therapist can be scary and I am more than happy to talk with you about what a typical therapy session might look like and what to expect. Specialties: My main speciality is anxiety and trauma, but I have found that depression typically overlaps with these and all three share similar symptoms. Many of my clients come to me because of the symptoms they are experiencing and over time see how their life circumstances and thought patterns, or "stories", are interconnected to their overall wellbeing.
"I use CBT and mindfulness to support my clients in working with anxious or negative thought patterns, bringing awareness to how these thoughts impact them, and introducing new thought patterns that feel more balanced and compassionate. I also use EMDR, which is an evidence-based technique, to help with trauma and beliefs that make you feel "stuck"."
