About
I offer caring and confidential therapy for adults, children, couples, and families in-person in Long Beach, CA. My clinical specialties include OCD treatment (including exposure therapy) and trauma recovery for children and adolescents. I have a special fondness for working with teens. I began my mental health career as a suicide prevention counselor, and I am a certified domestic violence counselor, so I don't shy away from the most uncomfortable topics. Please reach out to me to learn how I can help you or your family. I offer an integrative approach centered in cognitive behavioral therapy with the goal of helping you to build the skills you need to improve and maintain your own mental health. I want nothing more than for my clients to not need me anymore and to feel confident and assured to exit therapy in control of their own lives. Asking for help is hard. Even finding this web site required the bravery of taking the first steps into an uncertain process that can be scary. Let me make it easier. I'd like to walk alongside you as you navigate that process, to serve as a guide while you discover the route toward your best self, or to work with you to help your struggling child. Specialties: I serve clients of all ages, with my practice split nearly evenly between adults and minors. My office has a separate kids' therapy room ready for play and art. My teen clients who are ready to experiment with adulthood get that chance with me through empowerment and confidentiality in a safe environment with secure boundaries. Adults will find me welcoming of all needs. Credentials & Experience: I have advanced training in teen- and child-focused trauma treatment modalities such as TF-CBT and ITCT-A. I am a certified domestic violence counselor. I have worked in suicide prevention as a supervisor of crisis counselor. I taught research methods at Pepperdine University for three years.
"My integrative approach to individual mental healthcare cuts across modalities but is centered in cognitive behavioral therapy. That means that I will help you to understand the relationships between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can better exert control in those relationships to allow you to be your best self."
