About
Life often presents crossroads we need help to navigate. Relationships bring happiness but also create longing and loneliness. They can preoccupy us and destroy our sense of safety and self-respect. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, afraid, or lost, I can help. I offer counseling if you are unable to make decisions or life changes, have irresolvable conflicts, face unmet needs, or feel devalued. I also provide guidance with codependency, trauma, communication, intimacy, or self-esteem. You will gain awareness in your first session and quickly see changes in handling emotions, conflict, and boundaries. You will find solutions, empowerment, and an improved sense of mental wellness. My approach is individual and intuitive to make you feel comfortable. Along with advanced training, for 35 years I have helped individuals and couples affected by low self-esteem, codependency, abuse, anxiety, and trauma heal and find their life direction. I draw on extensive personal experience and professional training using many powerful healing techniques that support your overall mental health. My books include Unfettered Soul, Dating, Loving, & Leaving a Narcissist, Codependency for Dummies, Conquering Shame and Codependency, and 7 ebooks including 10 Steps to Self-Esteem, How to Speak Your Mind, and Spiritual Transformation in the Twelve Steps. On my website you can get FREE 14 Tips for Letting Go. I work by phone. See the Services page for details. Specialties: My practice specializes in trauma-informed care, though we start with the present and, like peeling an onion, gradually discover where your beliefs, actions, and defenses may have become maladaptive due to past conditioning or trauma. Through self-awareness, compassion, and supportive guidance, you can make changes in the present that rewire your brain and transform your outlook, feelings, and behavior. These changes also reshape your relationships.
"I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns so you can feel more in control of your daily life. Dream interpretation allows us to explore the symbolic meaning in your dreams for deeper self-understanding. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy helps uncover how early experiences and unconscious patterns shape your present relationships and behaviors. Many people find it productive to build self-esteem and strengthen communication skills. Working on one naturally supports the other, improving both our work and personal relationships. My therapeutic approach also includes somatic awareness techniques, which help you tune into your body's physical signals to access emotions that words alone may not reach. Voice dialogue lets us explore different facets of your personality with curiosity rather than judgment. Written exercises give you practical tools to process thoughts and feelings between sessions. Guided imagery and affect bridges help you gently access and integrate unconscious feelings and memories that may be influencing you outside your awareness."
