About
The changes children and families go through can bring stress, anxiety, and confusion. Some shifts are small, while others — at school, in the community, or across the world — feel enormous. Right now, many families are navigating a real sense of uncertainty and fear. If your family is coping with the challenges of aging, or if an elder in your life is facing loneliness, depression, or health struggles, counseling can offer meaningful support. Building coping tools to manage fear, confusion, and the stress that life creates can genuinely improve overall health and mental wellness. Some strategies are as simple as keeping a gratitude journal. Others go deeper, helping you process what's underneath the surface so you can move forward with more confidence and clarity. In children, signs of distress can show up in many ways. You might notice avoidance of certain activities or people, excessive crying, shifts in appetite, sleep, or play, trouble at school, or unusual tiredness. Somatic symptoms — like stomach aches or other pains without a clear medical cause — are also common. Bedwetting or regressing in skills they'd already mastered can be another signal that something feels off. Together we can look closely at what you or your child is experiencing and find a path toward healing. You can call me for a free 15-minute consultation to get started right away. Specialties: I specialize in working with children who are struggling with life changes or having difficulty at school. Together, we will build a strong therapeutic relationship and develop meaningful goals tailored to you, your child, and your family. My approach focuses on helping children build greater resilience when facing challenging situations, strengthening relationships at home, and improving social connections and friendships at school. Credentials & Experience: I bring over 25 years of experience working with children with special needs, along with 4 years of experience as a counselor serving children, adults, and senior citizens, and 5 additional years in a behavioral health program supporting children and their families.
"I use a client-centered and eclectic therapeutic approach. I apply many evidence-based methods to fit the person and their situation. As we get to know each other, I use Solution-Focused Therapy to guide you to your own answers. With children, I follow their lead to build rapport easily. I use art, games, and positive behavior supports so their natural curiosity directs our sessions."
