About
Life is tough! We all face challenges and experience struggle in our lives. Sometimes we need reminding we have the capacity to overcome our challenges and manage our struggles. Therapy is a great opportunity to gain new insight and perspective, find meaning, increase skills, increase self-worth and self-confidence, and connect with someone, a guide, who will walk the wellness journey with you on your path to greater health. My background working with adolescents and families in rural and not-so-rural communities across Alaska provides me with unique insight and expertise to support you as you navigate your wellness journey. My name is Meg Wright and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I grew up in Southeast Alaska and have served fellow Alaskans in many inpatient and outpatient settings. My counseling approach is tailored to meet each client's goals and integrates evidence-based therapies with modalities such as experiential, adventure-based, and expressive-arts therapies. Therapy is a challenging process. Trusting someone with your fears, painful experiences, and desires for greater health and wellness is not a decision you make easily. The therapeutic relationship serves to promote self-growth through creative collaboration to empower, motivate, and support you in strengthening deeper connections and living your best life. Specialties: I utilize creativity and collaboration to empower, motivate, and support clients in strengthening skills for self-regulation, improved relationships, achieving goals, and building self-worth and self-confidence. My approach is tailored to meet your needs and interests with specific focus on how trauma, life transitions, and family conflict impacts how you live your best life. Credentials & Experience: I am fully licensed to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alaska.
