About
I have extensive training in Family Systems Theory, Experiential Therapy and I am a Parnell Institute Attachment-Focused EMDR Level 1, 2 and 3 Therapist. Family has always been very important to me and that’s why I love systems therapy. So many of our wounds are tied to a relationship (or a lack thereof) and at the same time, healing can only be found in relationships. Sometimes we are afforded an opportunity to heal a relationship and other times we have to find internal healing with the support of other relationships. Family Systems theory views each individual in the context of their emotional unit or Family of Origin. Experiential Therapy is a trauma informed approach that uses expressive tools and activities to re-experience emotional situations from relationships to find healing. Attachment-Focused EMDR is a modified approach to EMDR that views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation upon which the healing of psychological injury can take place. AF-EMDR is designed to be slightly more fluid and less formulaic than traditional EMDR with exceptional results in treating trauma. My specialities are Trauma, Substance Use Disorders, Interpersonal Relationships, Codependence, Attachment Theory, ADHD and more in Individual, Couple or Family Therapy. Credentials & Experience: I have extensive training in Family Systems Theory and Experiential Therapy. As of June 2024, I am trained in Attachment Focused EMDR and working towards being fully certified. I have 6 years experience in Substance Use Disorders and 9 years experience in Couple and Family Therapy.
