About

Parenting a child through anxiety, depression, sensory processing challenges, aggression at daycare, or other concerns can feel overwhelming — and you don't have to figure it out alone. I work directly with parents to create a true collaboration, because in my experience, parental involvement is the single most critical factor in helping a child reach their goals. Whether through parental consultations or ongoing email recaps after sessions, I make sure you always know what's happening in the room and why. That connection between what we work on in therapy and what you're seeing at home is what makes real progress possible. Children don't naturally open up the way adults do in counseling — they play. That's why I use play-based approaches to help kids express what they're thinking and feeling in a way that genuinely makes sense to them. The first couple of sessions are intentionally designed to get to know each child, discover their unique strengths and super abilities, and connect those gifts directly to addressing whatever behavioral or mental health concerns brought them in. I'm also passionate about bringing siblings into the work. When tension builds between brothers and sisters at home, inviting them into the session gives me the chance to bridge that gap firsthand, right where the relationship lives. Beyond the home, I team up with schools and daycare facilities as well. Through daycare intakes with teachers and staff, I work to further decrease the reported behaviors that are showing up in those settings — because a child's well-being doesn't stop at the front door. If any of this resonates with where your family is right now, give me a call. Specialties: Combining parent and child concerns lies at the heart of a typical treatment plan, creating space for meaningful growth across the family system. I specialize in supporting parents through the complexities of post-divorce life, including the development of effective coparenting strategies that prioritize the wellbeing of everyone involved. I am experienced with the unique dynamics that arise within blended families, helping to navigate the transitions, boundaries, and relationships that come with building a new family structure. I also focus on addressing parental stress, offering practical tools and compassionate support to help parents feel more grounded, confident, and connected in their role. Credentials & Experience: Registered Play Therapist with over five years of counseling experience working with children and their families. Since 2016, I have been trained in supporting children through a wide range of mental health challenges, guiding both young clients and their families in navigating complex behavioral and emotional issues with care and clinical expertise.

"My therapeutic approach draws on play therapy and a range of evidence-based play therapy interventions, including sandtray, art, role-playing, puppet play, superhero play, and storytelling, among others. Play therapy is a natural and effective way for children to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a language that feels comfortable and safe for them — the language of play. Sandtray allows a child to create and explore their inner world using miniature figures and sand, making it easier to process emotions that may be difficult to put into words. Art gives children a creative outlet to express themselves visually, while role-playing and superhero play encourage them to explore different perspectives, build confidence, and work through challenges in an imaginative and empowering way. Puppet play offers a gentle, indirect way for children to communicate feelings they might otherwise find hard to share, and storytelling helps them make sense of their experiences through the power of narrative. In your first session, we will take time to explore your family's concerns about your child, discuss what progress looks like for your unique situation, and establish clear treatment goals to guide our work together."
