About
I provide virtual and in-person counseling. I am a Board Certified Telemental Health (BC-TMH) counselor providing sessions via a HIPAA-compliant virtual office. I am licensed in Alabama and also registered in Florida to provide telehealth services. Email is my preferred contact method and has faster response time. Our emails can be encrypted if needed. I primarily work with adults with concerns related to relationship issues, identity issues, anxiety, depression and stress management. I provide both traditional and web-based sessions. View my website for more detailed information about my services. I believe that positive growth and change occur in the context of healthy relationships. The relationship that one has with oneself is foundational to healthy relating. Counseling is an avenue for better understanding oneself as well as oneself in relationship with others. Specialties: With a focus on compassionate care, I see many people in the LGBTQIA community. For all clients, treatment planning is collaborative. Also, I like to meet weekly for 4-6 weeks, and then space sessions out so that you can practice new ways of thinking or behaving to see if what we are doing is helping. You know your symptoms best. You know when they are getting better. I am here for you. Credentials & Experience: In addition to my National Board and Alabama Board certifications, I am also a Board Certified Telemental Health provider offering confidential video counseling to residents of Alabama and FL. Be advised that some insurances may not cover telemental health.
"Therapy modality is based on your presenting concern, your goals and your personality. Some people like to use expressive or narrative therapies, some people don't. Some people relate to a more cognitive behavioral approach while others value a safe space to share feelings and release emotional energy. Regardless, I will bring compassion and empathy and center you in this therapeutic process."
