·LPCC-SAbout
As someone that, at different times in my life, has sought out therapy I can appreciate how difficult taking that first step to reach out can be. My goal is to help you address the overwhelming feelings/emotions and to develop appropriate coping skills to utilize in your daily life. I believe in a client/therapist collaborative relationship that helps you to be your best "you" by nurturing the tools and skills that already exist and helping you build a bigger "tool box" to work with. I enjoy working with a wide range of populations, including couples, teens, and adults. I have experience working with individuals who are dealing with trauma and emotions/behaviors that stem from trauma. I'm also EMDR trained through EMDRIA and am currently pursuing EMDR certification. If you have any questions or would like to reach out please email me or call to set up an appointment. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your mental health journey! **Specialties:** I am a trauma-informed therapist specializing in working with individuals facing trauma, anxiety, and depression. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as my primary modalities to foster healing, resilience, and emotional well-being. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to each client's unique journey. **Credentials & Experience:** I'm a licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor (LPCC-S) in Kentucky. I am fully trained in EMDR and am currently pursuing certification with the EMDR International Association.
"As a therapist, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a mindfulness approach as my primary modality but also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). CBT helps clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, while mindfulness encourages present-moment awareness and self-compassion. EMDR assists in processing trauma and growing positive cognitions."
