Their needs would be to heal with the understanding that therapy is a process and optimum results occur when a client is proactive in his or her recovery. Clients should be aware that therapy is their platform to be seen and heard. With 40 years of experience, I promise my clients that I have seen and heard it all! I believe that each individual is creative and unique and that there is no "one" way to be happy or live life. I will work with you to increase your understanding of how thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected. I utilize multiple measured therapeutic approaches, but practice mostly from a Client-Centered, Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. As of 2024, I am certified in grief & loss. I will empower you to overcome obstacles and find inner peace when struggling with life in the mask of depression/anxiety, grief, trauma, & addiction. I started practice in the 1970s in Brooklyn, NY, but have found a home in Lafayette. Acadian Counseling Center was opened to allow for individuals to come exactly as they are, to feel comfortable and to give themselves the opportunity to explore their life story and pick up the pieces. I can treat clients from anywhere in the State of Louisiana. **Specialties:** I practice from a Client-Centered, Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach believing that each client is the expert of their individual life. I treat each individual with unconditional positive regard and empower clients to be proactive in their healing. Experience working in a variety of mental health settings including: working with sexual trauma survivors, sexual addiction, 12 years in education, substance abuse & grief.
