Kati Buehrle

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker who works with adults seeking treatment for trauma/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ specific issues, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, grief and loss, and women’s issues. I completed my advanced education at The University of Akron, where I earned my BSW and MSW. Prior to private practice, I worked in community mental health. In this setting, most of my work focused on providing treatment to LGBTQIA+ folks and those living with HIV. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches and work with each client to identify which treatment will fit their unique needs. My approach to counseling is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. I use several treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and internal family systems (IFS). It’s important to me that I meet my clients where they are and allow them to set a pace for treatment that feels comfortable and safe for them. I show up for my clients with compassion and authenticity and also enjoy incorporating humor into the therapy space. I am so glad you took this step and I look forward to meeting you soon!
