Joseph Carlton
Marriage & Family Therapist
·LMFTAbout
I am a preferred provider for Humana and Optum/UMR. Also accepted Anthem/ BCBS, Passport, most medicaid plans and self pay. I have the option of teletherapy and in office services. I have over 25 years experience working with traumas, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. You don't have time to waste. Each individual and each couple is unique to themselves. I focus on you, your needs, not outdated rigid theories. Beginning with our first meeting I am focusing on the quickest most effective solutions to your specific circumstance. Maybe you are unsure of what can be done or maybe even feeling your situation is hopeless right now. Solutions are always possible though they may not be easily apparent to us when we are in the midst of emotionally intense experiences and situations. My job is to help you discover those solutions that have been hidden to you. **Credentials & Experience:** I chose to become an LMFT because relationships are central to our well-being; everything is shaped by them. A Marriage and Family Therapist is focused on your strengths and your capacities and building off those to enhance your happiness. I supply an open, affirming, safe place for you to thrive.
"The method of therapy I use is dependent upon what works best for you. This is not my therapy but yours and my job is meeting your needs. Generally, I use positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy and even hypnosis. As we work together, we may well evolve to adopt other approaches to help you get the most out of therapy."
