Welcome!! I am Dr. David Brooks. My passion is assisting traumatized and distressed patients in their healing. If you feel undervalued, insufficient, unworthy, traumatized, anxious, have specific fears and/or anxiety-based unwanted cravings I would be delighted to help you. My current practice is limited to individual adults focused on reversing posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), reducing anxiety, boosting mood, counteracting specific fears, providing practice with simple strategies to enhance coping with stressors, desensitizing traumatic life experience, reducing unwanted cravings and increasing self-esteem. As a very experienced Board Certified Psychologist with more than 30 years experience, I have helped more than 1,700 adult patients suffering with PTSD and specific fears. I have been a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist for over 20 years and know a lot about the brain, also being a Board Certified Neuropsychologist. Please see patient testimonials on my website dakotatrauma.com. My practice is casual. I typically wear blue jeans and value humor in good taste. I believe that traumatized individuals have suffered long enough and am dedicated to relieving your distress as soon as possible. Many have been able to work through lifelong trauma in approximately 10 sessions. **Specialties:** I provide help for individuals suffering with trauma (PTSD), fears/phobias, addictive cravings and anxiety disorders. During our sessions Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and practice with strategies to counteract stressors are provided. After 10 or less treatment sessions many who I help feel more worthy, empowered, deserving, confident and much less distressed. **Credentials & Experience:** Certified Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) Therapist, Board Certified in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology.
