Are you noticing patterns that may have once protected you but now limit your life? Perhaps you've left a high-control religious environment but still feel bound by its invisible rules. Maybe you've noticed that despite changing your external circumstances, internal patterns of shame, perfectionism, or disconnection persist. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating the complex aftermath of religious and spiritual trauma, purity culture, and other high-control environments. My approach is particularly attuned to the nuanced ways these experiences shape our relationships with ourselves and others. Our work together begins with understanding what you want for yourself. From this foundation of agency, we use curiosity and compassionate inquiry to explore what stands between you and your authentic desires. Clients describe me as both warm and direct, creating a space where transformation becomes possible without overwhelming your system. Our therapeutic journey is not about pathologizing your survival strategies—it's about honoring their wisdom while building capacity for new possibilities. It's possible to develop a relationship with yourself rooted in curiosity rather than criticism, flexibility rather than rigidity, & agency rather than submission to internalized external authority. **Specialties:** Together, we'll develop a compassionate understanding of how your adaptations served you; explore present-moment experiences that reflect earlier patterns; build capacity to stay connected to yourself even amid difficult emotions; gradually integrate disowned aspects of you into a more cohesive sense of identity; discover new ways of relating that weren't possible in your developmental environment **Credentials & Experience:** I have been practicing clinical social work in WNC since 2015. My primary approach is the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), specifically designed for resolving complex trauma. I also integrate EMDR and TRM when beneficial.
"I use the NeuroAffective Relational Model, EMDR, ACT & TRM to work with a variety of experiences, incl: Religious & spiritual trauma recovery; Healing from purity culture & sexual shame; Recovery from high-control relationships or environments; Complex PTSD & developmental trauma; Identity exploration & reclamation; Relationship patterns stemming from early attachment disruptions"
