If you feel like your emotions run the show—swinging from intense highs to overwhelming lows—you’re not alone. Many people struggle with impulsive behaviors, relationship conflict, self-criticism, or feeling out of control with their thoughts and reactions. You may know what you want to do differently, but in the moment it feels impossible to change. I work with individuals who experience intense emotions and want practical tools to regain stability and direction in their lives. Together, we focus on building the skills needed to manage emotions, improve relationships, and create a life that feels meaningful and sustainable. My primary specialty is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a highly structured, evidence-based approach designed specifically for people who experience strong emotional dysregulation. DBT focuses on learning concrete skills for mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication. Many people who seek DBT have spent years feeling ashamed, misunderstood, or like they’ve tried everything without success. One of my core beliefs is that most people were simply never taught the skills they needed to thrive. You are not a lost cause. With the right tools and support, meaningful change is possible. **Specialties:** I work with clients who struggle with emotional and/or behavioral regulation. DBT involves weekly 55-minute therapy sessions that includes behavior tracking and a weekly 30-minute individual skills training video with homework. A cycle of DBT lasts 6 months and most of my clients report noticing improvement within the first month of treatment. **Credentials & Experience:** I'm licensed in South Dakota, Texas, Illinois, Florida, and Georgia. I am DBT-trained and a certified personality disorder treatment provider.
"I use Dialectic Behavior Therapy in my practice. The first few weeks will be spent getting to know you. Additionally we will go through orientation and commitment to the DBT program. The next 24 weeks include skills acquisition, behavior analysis, and personalized strategies to improve your quality of life. The structure and support in DBT can help you make lasting, positive change."
