- Make a mental health mantra that includes different skills. One could be: Learn from what has happened, live in the now, and make plans for the future. You can do something with each of these ideas.
- Put yourself first. How much sleep and exercise you get each day has a huge effect on how you feel about yourself and your mental health in general.
- One of the best ways to deal with stress is to question negative thoughts as they come up. If you know the basics of CBT, you can tell if you're making a bad situation worse.
- You probably are harder on yourself than you are on other people. Be kind to yourself. Think about how you would act toward someone else who felt the way you do now. Why not show yourself the same kindness and understanding?

Change Now
Keep track of good feelings. Noticing these moments, which happen dozens of times a day, will change your mindset from just getting by to enjoying the little things in life.
Look at the people in your life. If you have a lot of problems with someone or their behaviour is hard to predict, think about how you can limit your time with them. When you deal with people who aren't predictable, it can be more stressful.
Check how your mood changes: If you have mood swings or can't control your emotions as well as you'd like, you might want to talk to a mental health professional.
